Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for an Actuator Controls Developer to support actuator calibration, diagnostics, and low-level control routines.
Responsibilities:
- Improve calibration, bring-up, and testing of our custom actuators
- Implement diagnostics for detecting actuator failures during bring-up and on-robot operation
- Contribute to actuator-level feedback control development, characterization, modeling, and tests
Requirements:
- Experience developing robust C++ and Python code
- Exposure to bring-up and control of robotic actuators
- Passionate about delivering a rock-solid actuation system
- Eager to push beyond conventional limits of system bring-up pace
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience shipping software for real products
- Familiarity with linear system analysis
- Interest in attending field tests
- Master’s degree in Controls
