Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for an Actuator Controls Engineer to support hand calibration, diagnostics, and low-level control routines.
Responsibilities:
- Improve calibration, bring-up, and testing of our custom hands
- Implement diagnostics for detecting hand failures during bring-up and on-robot operation
- Contribute to hand feedback control development, characterization, modeling, and validation
Requirements:
- Experience developing robust embedded C++ and Python code
- Exposure to bring-up and control of robotic actuators
- Passionate about delivering a rock-solid hand control system
- Eager to push beyond conventional limits of system bring-up pace
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience shipping software for real products
- Familiarity with robotic manipulators
- Interest in attending field tests
- Master’s degree in Controls
