About Distyl AI:

Distyl AI develops production-grade AI systems to power core operational workflows for Fortune 500 companies. Powered by a strategic partnership with OpenAI, in-house software accelerators, and deep enterprise AI expertise, we deliver working AI systems with rapid time to value – within a quarter.

Our products have helped Fortune 500 customers across diverse industries, from insurance and CPG to non-profits. As part of our team, you will help companies identify, build, and realize value from their GenAI investments, often for the first time. We are customer-centric, working backward from the customer’s problem and holding ourselves accountable for creating both financial impact and improving the lives of end-users.

Distyl is led by proven leaders from top companies like Palantir and Apple and is backed by Lightspeed, Khosla, Coatue, Dell Technologies Capital, Nat Friedman (Former CEO of GitHub), Brad Gerstner (Founder and CEO of Altimeter), and board members of over a dozen Fortune 500 companies.

What We Are Looking For:

At Distyl we’re pushing the envelope of AI utilization in enterprise. This requires creative engineers who don’t just want to drive incremental improvements on benchmarks or optimize an existing process but instead are looking to creatively redefine how software is used.

We’re looking for someone eager to take on challenging technical problems, contribute to enterprise-grade systems, and learn from industry leaders who are reshaping how AI is used in real-world operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Hit the ground running and take ownership of key projects for iconic customers.

  • Thoughtfully design and implement systems that leverage LLMs in a responsible and predictable manner, including model vetting, pilot development, and production implementation.

  • Contribute to the development of Distyl's internal platform (Distillery) for LLM application development, including designing and implementing new features and functionality.

  • Monitor and maintain production systems to ensure they are meeting system requirements and delivering the expected results

  • Stay up-to-date with AI / ML trends, and leverage your practical experience with LLMs (especially OpenAI's) to responsibly evaluate their trade-offs and bring innovative solutions to our customers.

  • Continuously improve solution design and implementation processes, incorporating feedback and lessons learned from previous projects.

Requirements

  • Current graduate student or junior or senior-level undergraduate student in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.

  • Internship or research experience in software engineering, AI, or machine learning.

  • Practical experience in software development (ideally full stack) and production deployments for data-intensive or ML-based products.

  • An obsession with thorough AI/ML evaluation to create reliable applications.

  • Strong knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Transformers, Scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas).

  • Experience with software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

  • Experience architecting and implementing cloud data infrastructure and pipelines (Azure, AWS, and GCP) is a plus.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week onsite in San Francisco or in New York during the school year or ability to work full time (hybrid) onsite in either location during the summer term.

What we offer

  • Opportunity to work in a mission-oriented company to help create practical adoption of the biggest revolution in human productivity.

  • Opportunity to work on projects for some of the most iconic institutions, and drive transformative outcomes.

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technologies and make a real impact on the adoption of LLMs in the enterprise space.

  • Collaborative and supportive work environment, with a strong focus on personal and professional growth and mentorship.

  • Exposure to a diverse range of real-world industries and projects, providing unique challenges and learning opportunities.

  • Chance to be part of a growing team that is passionate about AI and its potential to revolutionize human productivity.

If you are an innovative, ambitious, and driven individual looking to make a difference in the world of AI, we want to hear from you. Apply now to join our team and help us shape the future of AI-driven solutions for enterprises across the globe.

Note: Distyl is a hybrid working environment and requires in-office collaboration 3 days a week. We have offices in SF and NYC
