AAbout the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Lead to join our Human Data Training Team at xAI. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the highest standards of data quality for our AI models, by standardizing processes, creating rubrics, and conducting audits. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in data annotation, labeling, and training workflows, ensuring that our models deliver accurate, reliable, and impactful results across diverse domains such as science, technology, mathematics, humanities, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Standardization & Best Practices: Develop and implement standardized workflows and guidelines for AI data annotation and labeling tasks, ensuring consistency across projects and teams. Monitor data quality patterns, update best practices, and maintain detailed documentation for clarity and standardization.
- Quality Audits & Continuous Improvement: Conduct audits to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement. Analyze findings to enhance data integrity, factuality, and reliability through process improvements.
- Strategic Leadership & Client Management: Partner with stakeholders to define quality expectations, manage quality across projects, and present metrics and insights to foster transparency.
- Team Enablement & Collaboration: Mentor teams on quality standards, work closely with project leads to optimize workflows, and collaborate cross-functionally to innovate tools for data quality enhancement.
- Systems Thinking & Operational Excellence: Identify process optimization opportunities, drive strategic initiatives aligning with AI training needs, and oversee team performance to exceed KPIs.
- Business Ownership: Develop strategies for organizational growth and profitability while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
We are looking for candidates with the following traits, skills, background, expertise:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred), or proven exceptional ability.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in operations management, quality control, or process improvement, ideally in AI.
- Experience managing large teams (30+ members) with a track record of exceeding KPIs.
- Knowledge of AI training workflows, data annotation, and quality assurance.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in quality management tools, data analysis platforms, and project management software.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or similar for data analysis.
- Familiarity with statistical tools like Tableau or Power BI and quality frameworks.

Annual Salary Range: $104,000. to $130,000
