AI/ML Silicon - RTL design Engineer - MTS
THE ROLE:
The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute the design of new and existing features for AMD’s NPU/ML processor IP, resulting in no bugs in the final design.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. You will take part in the design and implementation of high-performance, low-power processor and accelerator IP for AI/ML applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with architects and hardware engineers to understand and define the new features to be implemented
- Define and specify micro-architecture of AI Engine building blocks based on architecture requirements
- RTL design and debug of complex blocks in Verilog / System Verilog
- Ensure Design meets performance, power and Area targets
- Work with verification and physical design teams to achieve high quality design and successful tape out
- Perform RTL-Level design verfication and debugging as needed
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to digital circuit design
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve novel problems across multiple functional areas.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prior hands-on design experience in CPU, GPU and NPU is preferable.
- Proficient in Verilog and System Verilog with good understanding of RTL design flows and process
- Strong digital circuit design fundamentals, including synchronous and pipeline designs
- Circuit timing/STA, and practical experience with Prime Time or equivalent tools
- 5+ years of Expertise in Low power digital design and analysis
- Experience with design quality metrics ASIC development such as Lint, CDC, RDC, Synthesis and STA
- Proficient in debugging RTL code using simulation tools
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as they relate to RTL design. This includes familiarity with Advance technology nodes, semiconductor technologies, and other relevant electrical aspects of circuit design
Familiarity with Machine Learning is preferable
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
