Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our AI Services as part of the Next Generation Developer Experience service team for Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute, storage, database, messaging, and more. AWS also develops advanced IOT, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and other devices and services.

We're looking for a products counseling attorney to support some of AWS’s most cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning tools and services. In this role, you will work directly with the business team as lead counsel to develop new artificial intelligence focused products and services, with duties including: identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies; advising on regulatory and compliance matters, privacy, intellectual property, and go-to-market strategy; drafting and negotiating commercial licensing agreements; providing day-to-day input on business strategy; and analyzing and contributing to AI/ML policy positions around the world. Your role will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including privacy, public relations, and public policy teams.

You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business. Compensation is based on experience and includes equity compensation.

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with AI, technology, or policy and regulatory compliance strategy
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Sound and practical business judgment
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
