About the role
Character.AI is looking for a Brand and Content Marketing Lead with experience developing video and other content for Gen Z and broad consumer audiences.
You’ll own Character.AI’s content creation. You will develop the content strategy, messaging, briefs and storyboards. You’ll provide creative direction and project-manage in-house and agency resources to create videos, web and other content.
Your objectives will be to:
Create content that elevates the brand, boosting awareness and interest in trying Character.AI
Educate consumers about the product value across a range of use cases, e.g., for play, support and productivity
Drive reach to new audiences, expanding beyond current core
The role is onsite 3-5 days/week in Menlo Park, CA.
Responsibilities
Own strategy and execution for Character.AI's content creation, including videos telling the brand story, founder vision; product launch assets such as videos, images, and more; educational videos illustrating product value for a range of use cases; launch our first website.
Develop content strategy, messaging, briefs and storyboards for videos, web and other content
Provide creative direction and project-manage out of house house creative resources and agencies
As needed, copyedit and edit graphics and videos
Lead development of Character.AI’s first marketing site
Job Requirements
10+ years marketing experience including defining a new category
Experience marketing to both Gen Z and broad consumer audiences on Tik Tok and other social media platforms
Consumer marketing experience, ideally in consumer lifestyle
Experience working in a consumer digital, direct-to-consumer (DTC), ecommerce, retail or consumer packaged goods industry
Experience leading video and other content creation projects. Track record of writing briefs and storyboards, providing creative direction, and project-managing in-house teams and/or agencies
Experience working in a startup and/or dynamic environment. Flexible, resourceful, independent, communicative
Nice to Have
Experience launching new marketing sites for early stage companies
Video editing skills (ex. iMovie), design (ex. Photoshop) and copywriting
