About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Brand Strategist with a strong foundation in classic agency brand strategy. This role is pivotal in shaping and elevating the OpenAI brand through data-driven storytelling, robust brand architecture, and integrated campaign development. The ideal candidate will blend strategic insight with creative storytelling, using hard data to craft compelling narratives that resonate across all channels and drive measurable business growth.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in San Francisco (three days in-office per week), with relocation assistance available.
Key Responsibilities
Data-Driven Storytelling & Insight Synthesis:
Leverage quantitative and qualitative research to extract key insights and transform complex data into engaging, narrative-driven strategies that connect with our diverse audience.Brand Architecture & Strategic Positioning:
Develop, refine, and maintain our brand architecture to ensure a consistent, differentiated positioning in the market. Create a cohesive framework that aligns our visual identity, messaging, and tone across every touchpoint.Integrated Campaign Development :
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Product, Sales, and Design—to craft and execute integrated campaigns. Employ classic ad agency methodologies to generate high-impact creative content that amplifies our brand promise and drives customer engagement. Focus on creating high quality creative briefs, and refining creative solutions along the way (across audiences)Market Analysis & Performance Optimization:
Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Use data analytics to continuously measure and optimize brand performance, ensuring strategies are both innovative and effective.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, or related roles, preferably within high-growth or agency AND in house at scaled technology companies
Proven expertise in data-driven storytelling, brand architecture, and the brand strategy for integrated campaigns across diverse business audiences
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable brand insights.
Exceptional communication and creative storytelling abilities, with a track record of working with creative and wide XFN teams to develop compelling brand narratives.
Deep understanding of digital, social media, and content marketing trends.
Experience collaborating across creative, marketing, product, and leadership teams in fast-paced environments.
