The goal of AMD CAD is to implement a software-based design flow using best practices and techniques for designing chips with the highest performance, lowest cost, and lowest power. AMD CAD works with various design teams to enable them to put software to use in constructing next-generation GPUs, CPUs and APUs with industry-standard EDA software tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler, Fusion Compiler, ICC2 and Formality. Developing and maintaining logical equivalence checks for our world-class hardware synthesis design flow in fast-paced production environment on the very edge of modern technology. THE PERSON: You are a highly motivated self-starter, who is passionate about solving problems and reaching goals. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and collaborate well with others on your team, as well as with other business units. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: You will get to work with the newest and coolest chip manufacturing technologies, including those not yet in production Learn about hardware design, flow automation and how to manage data for large Design of Experiments You will master your UNIX and script debugging skills, while developing flow automation and working with great professionals as a valued member of our team This team is essential to the success of AMD as a growing company. It is a very exciting environment, and you will be working with the very best in our technology Support Formal Verification runs for sign-off quality checks Running multiple test designs through the flow on the latest technologies to determine the impact of technology changes on sign off verification Automating new flow practices and improvements for general use in the design community Helping to create new methodologies for low-power equivalence checking flow PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience with EDA software tools like Conformal LEC, Formality, VCLP Fusion/Design Compiler, ICC2,and Primetime Experience UNIX and scripting programming skills (Perl, python, TCL) Familiarity with version control, testing and release Familiarity with VLSI design practices Understanding of digital circuits Verilog - both RTL Verilog/system Verilog and gate netlist Verilog Low power design (UPF) Good communication and problem solving skills Highly motivated, self-starter with good interpersonal skills ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors or Masters degree in computer/electrical engineering LOCATION: Austin, TX #LI-SL3 #LI-Hybrid At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.
