About the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office
The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) is a Principal Staff Assistant (PSA) responsible for the acceleration of the adoption of data, analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate decision advantage across the Department of Defense (DoD). The Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), Defense Digital Services (DDS), Chief Data Office (CDO), and forward-leaning programs of record including Advana have officially joined together to form one organization – the CDAO! The CDAO is established to enable the Military Departments and Services, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other DoD Components, to swiftly introduce new capabilities and effectively experiment with new operational concepts in support of DoD's warfighting missions. The CDAO Digital Talent Management Division provides expertise in the management of top-tier technical talent for the CDAO.
The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) is seeking a Development & Training Portfolio Lead that will work across DoD to strategically plan for and execute on development and training initiatives, activities, programs and pilots for emerging technologies including digital, data and AI literacy, upskilling, training and development of Digital Workforce roles and education of senior and executive leadership. The Lead is also responsible for the promotion and programmatic oversight of programs and products, acquisition and contract management, and regular briefings internal and external to DoD.
This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f and does not convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. The pay grade for this role is GG-0340-15.

What you'll do here:
Identify, define, scope, and deliver measurable and effective training and educational products, curriculum, and scalable programs to the Department to enable digital readiness and adoption of data and AI.Strategically plan and execute on development activities, programs, and initiatives to maintain and expand the Defense Digital Workforce.Works in concert with partners across OUSD, MilDeps, Combatant Commands and Defense Field Agencies to acquire buy-in and maximize on DoD investments in training initiatives, at-scale, for the benefit of the digital workforce.Provides programmatic oversight of and accountability for dollars spent, and outputs generated to include forecasting and program-level reporting to leadership.Promotes workforce development initiatives both internally and externally via public address, workshops, conferences, and other public events.Manages working groups, discovery, and assessment efforts and analyses, including building and maintaining strong relationships with senior and executive development support services, military development programs, and other academic and industry-based partnerships.,
