About the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office
The Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) mission is to accelerate the adoption of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) across the Department of Defense (DoD). The CDAO works across the Military Departments and Services, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other DoD Components to design, develop, field, and scale technologies, capabilities, strategies, policies, and other guidance related to data, analytics, and AI in support of DoD's warfighting and business functions, including responding to crises and emerging challenges with state-of-the-art digital solutions.
This position serves as the Policy & Strategy Specialist within the Policy & Strategy Division of the Policy Directorate. The incumbent will proactively develop, coordinate, and implement policies and strategies aimed at driving company-wide organizational change and expediting the adoption of data and AI-enabled capabilities across the Defense enterprise. Additionally, they will provide advice to senior leaders on complex and potentially contentious data, analytics, and AI matters to bolster enterprise strategy, governance, and decision-making processes.
This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. This position is GG-13.

What you'll do here:
Proactively develops, coordinates, and implements policies and strategies to drive company-wide organizational change and accelerate adoption of data and AI-enabled capabilities across the Defense enterprise.Advises senior leaders on complex and/or contentious data, analytics, and AI issues to support enterprise strategy, governance, and decision-making.Evaluates policy and strategic outcomes and makes recommendations based on insights from qualitative and quantitative metrics, directed research, and industry engagement.Coordinates and assesses the implementation of relevant strategic guidance.The Policy and Strategy Analyst is responsible for independently conducting research and analysis and clearly communicating findings, supported by evidence and analysis, that will enable CDAO and DoD leadership to make better decisions.Formulates data, analytics, and AI strategy and policy in alignment with DoD strategies and organizational goals.Advises senior DoD leaders on complex and/or contentious data, analytics, and AI issues to support enterprise strategy, governance, and decision-making.Evaluates policy and strategic outcomes and makes recommendations based on insights from qualitative and quantitative metrics, directed research, and industry engagement.Produces written analyses of lessons learned from CDAO organizational initiatives and activities for the benefit of both the CDAO and the broader DoD data, analytics and AI community.Coordinates and assesses the implementation of relevant Department of Defense strategic guidance.Communicates and collaborates across CDAO to drive alignment between policy, strategy, and organizational efforts and initiatives.,
