About the Role

Our operations team is growing and we are looking for a Command Center Operator to join us in our Mountain View office. In this role, you will be responsible for operating our autonomous delivery vehicles that run proprietary software and hardware.

Professionalism, care, and personal accountability are significant attributes as you will be expected to adhere to the culture of safety and standards of conduct exemplified by the team. You will have to pass several training checkpoints both in and out of the vehicle. 

About the Work

  • Safely operate and monitor Nuro Vehicles and Robots for up to 8 hours daily
    • Monitor Autonomy performance
    • Efficiently handle and address any issues by following proper escalation procedures
  • Utilize proprietary software to collect data and troubleshoot in a variety of real-world situations or simulated, while simultaneously providing detailed and accurate feedback
  • Cross-functional collaboration - maintaining patience, troubleshooting, and communicating the status of issues by utilizing effective means of communication
  • Collaborate with a small team to achieve our shared goals and reach success
  • Complete daily reports and document procedures

About You

  • You have a current valid CA driver's license and have been in possession of a US license for 3+ years
  • You have a clean driving record and pass a criminal background check
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of autonomous vehicles
  • Able to monitor and operate vehicles remotely 6-8 hours per shift
  • Able to work alone or with others
  • You are able to reliably work our PM shift (2:00-10:30pm Pacific Time) Monday through Friday, and occasionally weekends as needed

Bonus Points

  • Prior AV experience in autonomous driving, testing, or similar translatable field
  • Simulation or teleoperation experience 
  • Extensive testing software or hardware experience
  • Autonomous vehicle experience
  • BS/BA degree preferred, but not required
  • Google docs and sheets experience
  • Planning, multitasking, team projects

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position the reasonably expected base hourly rate is $24 per hour. Any future increases in pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, education, location, and skills. You may also be entitled to a yearly bonus based on individual and company performance.
