About the Role:
As the global controller for the business, you will design, implement, and scale the accounting and finance processes and systems to support Hippocratic AI’s next growth stage. You will collaborate cross-departmentally to own end-to-end financials for the company. Specifically, you will work with the corporate teams in the US, an outsourced bookkeeper in India (to start with), and our India Head based in Gurgaon to ensure seamless operations that drive business success. In time, you will build and manage a high-performance accounting team in India that supports global business.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on a day-to-day basis with our Head of Finance based in the US and an outsourced bookkeeper in India to lead and oversee financial operations/compliance for the business, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and month-end close, including consolidation of financial statements for US, India, and Singapore entities
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the company’s financials
Manage cash flows and treasury operations
Create and execute SOPs for accounting processes to ensure effective internal controls
Own financial compliance and deliverables for all global entities (US, India, and Singapore) for income taxes, Sales Tax/VAT/GST, TDS, etc.
Help develop revenue recognition policies and memos
Drive continuous improvements and scale financial operations
Build and lead a high-performance accounting in India supporting the global business
Qualifications:
Must-Haves:
8-12 years of experience managing accounting, financial operations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable with a high-growth tech startup and/or multi-national corporations
Qualified CA or CPA
Excellent understanding of US and Indian GAAPs
High proficiency in Excel and experience working with financial software and systems like Quickbooks, Netsuite, Zoho Books/Payroll, Avalara, Ramp, Rippling, Bill.com, Navan, etc
Strong business acumen and a track record of holding cross-functional teams accountable and creating a culture of adhering to financial budgets and goals
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to work autonomously
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to stakeholders across teams
Nice-to-Haves:
Big4 or other public accounting experience preferred
Experience working at a US-based B2B Enterprise SAAS company
Experience drafting detailed revenue recognition memos
Experience managing and/or working across multiple global entities
