About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will handle the end-to-end data migration lifecycle—evaluating source systems, designing transformation rules, building ETL pipelines, and verifying data quality before final load. You will collaborate directly with business data owners and other technical teams to facilitate secure, controlled data transfers and ensure a seamless transition to the new NetSuite environment.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Assessment: Evaluate source data systems to identify data structures, uncover potential quality issues, and determine data cleansing needs.

Data Mapping and Transformation: Create mapping rules to accurately translate fields from source systems to NetSuite, removing duplicates, fixing errors, and applying target system formatting.

Data Migration Planning: Develop comprehensive migration plans—including timelines, testing procedures, and contingency strategies—to ensure a smooth, auditable migration process.

ETL Pipeline Management: Build and maintain CDATA pipelines and other ETL processes to efficiently transfer data between systems.

Validation and Troubleshooting: Perform thorough data validation to ensure data integrity post-migration; troubleshoot and resolve migration issues with innovative, scalable solutions.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of data mappings, transformation rules, and any encountered issues to facilitate clear communication and future auditability.

Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project teams, business owners, and technical staff to gather requirements, address concerns, and provide timely updates. Present complex ideas in accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.

About You

The essentials:

Proficiency with large-volume ETL processes, SQL Server, and CDATA pipelines.

Strong finance and accounting data knowledge, with the ability to cleanse, reconcile, and ensure accuracy.

Demonstrated experience with data migration—including discovery, mapping/translating, validation, and rollback strategies.

Ability to collaborate with business data owners to extract legacy data, validate and transform it, facilitate stakeholder signoff, and correct any data issues when needed.

Not a must, but a plus:

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work with business SMEs to confirm requirements, highlight data integrity concerns, and minimize back-and-forth Q&A.
