About the Team
Workday has launched an Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) Team to Transform and optimize the way Workday creates and shares trusted data to drive actionable insights and data led innovation across the enterprise. To enable this strategy, the ED&A team has worked with the business to identify critical business areas in which data and analytics can make a material difference in the execution of Workday’s strategic goals. Each of these goals is being organized as a data product with a dedicated multi-functional team to drive a diverse set of data management, governance, and data analytics to realize relevant, measurable business change.As part of ED&A and enabling this strategy, the Enterprise Data Governance team drives the creation of policies, procedures, and operating models that will improve the overall quality and reliability of data across Workday in support of operational and analytical strategic business outcomes.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled MDM and RDM Data Steward to join our team. This role demands deep expertise in Reference Data Management (RDM), with a Master Data Management background in customer, product, and contact data. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in end-to-end reference data management and management of hierarchies within MDM systems. Proficiency with Reltio or similar MDM tools is essential. In this role, you will be a key player in maintaining the accuracy, governance, and integration of critical data, ensuring high-quality data management that supports business operations, decision-making, and data-driven insights across the organization.
Job Duties:
Oversee the end-to-end of reference data initiative, including customer, product, and contact data, ensuring high data quality, consistency, and integration across systems.
Lead the stewardship of product data to ensure that it is accurate, complete, and compliant with organizational standards and industry best practices.
Design, implement, and maintain hierarchical structures within MDM systems such as Reltio
Establish and enforce reference data policies to maintain consistency, integrity, and compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data, IT, Product, and Operations to support data initiatives and ensure alignment across the organization.
Facilitate seamless integration of reference data across various systems and platforms, working with technical teams to implement data solutions.
Work with the Enterprise Data Governance team to establish consistency in data within the analytics environment and enforce data remediation team to improve data at source.
Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives and advocate for reference data standards.
Analyze complex data issues, using strong problem-solving skills to find creative and effective solutions.
Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in data management.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of MDM experience with end-to-end management of reference data within an enterprise environment.
5+ years of data stewardship experience and managing hierarchies within MDM systems
5+ years of experience with Reltio (or similar MDM platforms)
Strong data governance and data quality management background.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and strong judgment in decision-making and prioritization.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data issues and find creative solutions.
Strong collaboration and networking skills, with the ability to work with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
