Perplexity is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our small team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be responsible for building the future of how people ask questions and find information on mobile.
Our iOS stack is SwiftUI, UIKit, Firebase, and Socket.io. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, be an expert in SwiftUI, UIKit, Core Graphics, and Core Animation, and have a portfolio showcasing their ability to build delightful user experiences from scratch.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement sophisticated UI with a keen eye for animation, detail, and user interaction.
- Utilize a deep understanding of SwiftUI to overcome its limitations and leverage its strengths when building interfaces.
- Collaborate with design and other mobile engineers to translate visions and concepts into production-quality UI.
- Create reusable component libraries that are the building blocks of Perplexity's mobile app.
- Continuously polish and iterate on the existing user experience to make it more delightful and useful.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in SwiftUI, UIKit, Core Graphics, and Core Animation
- Strong experience with consumer mobile apps
- Expertise in motion and interactive design
- Ability to translate mockups from Figma into practical designs
- Minimum 4 years of iOS engineering experience
Our cash compensation range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity is part of the total compensation package.
