THE ROLE: 

AMD is seeking a dedicated and self-motivated person to join the Verification Methodologies and Tools (VMT) team. VMT is a central R&D team that provides design verification flows and methodologies for all project execution teams in AMD.

The focus of this role is to work on methodology for functional verification through simulation, to integrate novel machine learning solutions, and to monitor and assess the performance of new, mainly ML/AI based tools, on the verification of AMD products.

THE PERSON:  

You have a passion for the modern process of developing complex hardware systems, for creating better products by using the latest available ML/AI solutions, for design verification in general and for the art of design verification in particular. You are an independent worker who manages complex assignments within established deadlines, while you are also a team player with excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. You are driven to learn and try modern technologies, like newly developed ML/AI based HW development tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Change/adapt existing methodologies to incorporate innovative solutions.
  • Write scripts & utilities in Python, shell, etc. to implement methodology flows.
  • Instrument execution flows to record performance and provide performance analysis on individual tools and on whole execution flows.
  • Analyze, and articulate benefits of using machine learning on the quality of hardware design, being in regressions, debug, simulation, etc.
  • Deploy higher performing methodologies, based on vendor’s novel solutions or internal changes, to AMD-wide verification teams, share knowledge through documentation, presentations, drive work groups.
  • Interact with vendor application engineers to solve issues arising from deploying the vendor tools.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Experience in functional verification methodology and flows, developing scripts/utilities.
  • Basic knowledge of functional hardware process components like SV/UVM/C++ testbench, simulation, regressions, coverage
  • Knowledge of design verification tools, related to verification via simulation.
  • Experience with data analysis, data mining, and machine learning is a plus.
  • Past collaboration with vendor teams is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud computing is another plus. 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or master's in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent
