As a Designer at Monks, you will be responsible for creating visually engaging, innovative and interactive experiences. Our incredible range of work is frequently digital but can also include physical executions working holistically with digital components. The role is an exciting blend of visual design and interaction design.
You will collaborate with culturally and geographically diverse cross-functional teams including UX designers, art directors, copywriters, strategists, motion designers and developers; all coming together to deliver world-class design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead 1-2 small to medium-sized projects simultaneously, from concept to completion. This includes assisting in the day-to-day development and creation of all design deliverables and presentations for assigned projects.
- Strong understanding and application of visual design principles and interaction design principles.
- Develop design concepts for digital experiences. Define overall visual design language, visual design systems, guidelines and a strong approach to animation design. Work on typography, color schemes, layout, imagery, interactive elements and user interfaces. Ensures alignment with the client’s brand standards and project requirements. Always with direction from Creative Directors or Associate Creative Directors.
- Interest in and experience developing creative solutions that blend digital and traditional print design. Experience executing high-level print delivery processes is helpful because we also create experiential work that is often a combination of physical and digital .
- Collaborate with UX designers, art directors, writers, strategists, motion designers and developers to translate user needs into functional and effective design solutions.
- Regularly communicate with your teams about the status of your projects and finding creative solutions to issues that arise with oversight from Creative Directors or Associate Creative Directors
- Ensure all your projects maintain a high level of innovation, quality and consistency. All delivered on-time with accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the front-end build production, in addition to providing technical feedback to the development team.
- Work closely with the Creative Director or Associate Creative Director to ensure that the client and project goals are being met.
- Support the Creative Director or Associate Creative Director in client presentations and new business pitches with research, supporting design concepts and mockups.
- Mentor and lead a Junior Designer or Design Intern that works alongside with you on projects
- Provide creative feedback to Junior Designers or Motion Designers on assigned projects.
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience preferably in a digital agency or design studio environment with a comprehensive portfolio.
- Advanced skills in design software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Google Slides, Microsoft Powerpoint. 3D or Motion Design experience is a plus! We work across many countries and cultures and English is a common language.
