Director, Data Analytics
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Director of Analytics for TW Pricing, you will be instrumental in defining and executing data-driven pricing strategies that are vital to Coupang’s profitability and success in Taiwan. Reporting to the TW Product Team, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering insights that inform our pricing initiatives.
In this role, you will develop comprehensive pricing analytics strategies that align with our business objectives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify optimization opportunities. Your expertise in advanced analytics will enable you to create predictive pricing models and oversee A/B testing frameworks, ensuring our pricing decisions are agile and informed by real-time data.
You will also play a key role in shaping product and technology roadmaps, driving a culture of experimentation and data-driven decision-making. As a strategic partner to Taiwan Product Leadership, you will challenge and support the cross-functional leadership team with data, anticipating business issues and facilitating effective decision-making.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of analytics, experimentation, and strategic insights, with a proven track record in pricing analytics within e-commerce. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit are essential for success in this fast- paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop a small team of high performing analysts within the pricing domain, plus scale the team efficiently as per current plans to scale.
- Develop and execute an analytics roadmap for Pricing, aligning with the company's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and provide analytical insights that inform decision-making and drive revenue growth.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains through data analysis, automation, and technology enhancements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and industry best practices to recommend adjustments to Coupang’s retail and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure data availability, accuracy, and quality for analytics purposes.
- Present findings, recommendations, and insights to senior leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in analytics, retail trends, and pricing methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- Proven track record of leading product and customer analytics, experimentation, and Insights or business reporting within one of the top global ecommerce companies.
- 10+ years in a leadership or managerial role within global top tier technology companies, preferably in eCommerce.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful insights and driving business outcomes through data-driven strategies.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g.,Python, R/SAS, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Deep understanding of retail operations, pricing dynamics, and consumer behavior.
- Prior C-level/Executive Board exposure. Experience presenting insights to senior leadership after evaluating huge data sets and holding in depth discussions about these with C-level stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or related disciplines. Master's or PhD preferred.
