Director HPC/ML/AI GPU HBM Memory Post Silicon Validation
THE PERSON:
Seeking a strong technical leader who has worked in the Memory space with extensive experience doing DDR, LPDDR, GDDR or HBM memory. You are familiar with controllers and/or memory technology especially from a validation point of view. Ideally, server based memory. You enjoy developing talent and growing worldwide teams. In addition, you are a change agent with a proven record of pushing the boundary of testing and driving test innovation. You possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills. You thrive on collaboration and solving complex organization challenges.
THE ROLE:
You will be part of the Graphics Data Center and Accelerated Processing Validation team reporting to the Sr. Director of Functional & Electrical SOC/System validation. . You will get the opportunity to collaborate with AMD Silicon Designers/Architects, Firmware, Manufacturing, Validation teams, and our Memory vendors to bring our products to market. We are working with the world’s leading Cloud Service Providers and Supercomputing institutions to enable AMD's GPU accelerators into their clusters. You will have the latitude to innovate and be part of driving change. This business is the fastest growing within the company and in the computing industry at large. Technical Leadership role responsible for interfacing with memory vendors, internal AMD teams to plan and drive Memory Validation/Qualification including electrical, functional, thermal and performance testing on our ML/AI/HPC products. You will lead a team of engineers that span multiple geographical locations. The role covers SOC planning to silicon Bring-up through production. Role is a large cross-functional role requiring technical depth/breadth and strong leadership skills. In addition to test planning and execution, we are seeking a mature, seasoned leader that can drive change and innovation to our post-silicon test capabilities. We want people who have system knowledge and experience with highly complex SOC/Systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead post-silicon validation planning & execution of functional and electrical testing for HBM Memory
- Build and cultivate strong relationships with key memory vendors, AMD engineering organizations including firmware, software, silicon design, manufacturing and other validation organization
- Recruit top talent to support the team's growth plans and develop the existing engineering team
- Drive test innovation and strategic initiatives based on learning from prior programs and your own best practice knowledge
- Partner with peers to drive quality enhancements through methodology improvements and collaboration of manufacturing testing
- Support debug and customer interactions as required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive experience working with memory design/qual/validation
- Experience testing memory at an SOC & system level environment
- Deep technical experience in Electrical testing methodologies
- Strong knowledge of silicon/system test methodologies
- Prior roles leading managers
- Demonstrated strength in developing and growing technical teams
- Prior experience in pre-silicon testing in DV, Emulation/Simulation a plus
- Graphics or ML/AI/HPC experience a plus
- Understanding of HW/FW/SW interaction and system-level design
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability in “showing initiative” to get things done
- Excellent communication skills including presenting to senior executives
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering
