THE ROLE:
Information Security Director, Enterprise Security Architect will be responsible for working with AMD’s business units and project teams to design and support implementation of effective security strategies and solutions to secure the business.
THE PERSON:
The Director will provide guidance and expertise to ensure alignment with AMD security policies, business risk tolerance and industry best practices. He/she will be responsible for liaising between business and project teams, IT and Information Security Teams to promote adoption of enterprise security solutions and processes.
The Director will lead a team of Enterprise Security Architects that collaborate with the business to identify, evaluate and assess risk and design appropriate mitigations to enable secure business execution and time to market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Lead AMD’s Enterprise Security Architecture practice, support the design and implementation of AMD’s Enterprise Security Strategy across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Provide security architecture requirements to mature enterprise security solutions.
- Improve security posture by designing and supporting the implementation of cutting-edge security architectures for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Develop company-wide security policies and standards aligned to business strategy, IT goals and industry best practices, support technical implementation of policy requirements with IT, Enterprise Security and Business Teams.
- Lead Business Information Security Officer program to enable executive security awareness and risk mitigation across the enterprise.
- Advance AMD’s Security Assessment and Penetration Strategy and practice, prioritizing critical applications, developing mitigation strategies, and driving remediation of security findings with business and IT stakeholders.
- Incorporate lessons learned and identified deficiencies from Security Assessments and Penetration testing activities into Enterprise Security Strategy, Roadmap and technical architectures to mature security capabilities for coverage and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement an AI security strategy, AI security controls framework and AI red-teaming methodology and build out an end-to end AI red teaming capability for conducting security assessments of AMD’s AI technologies.
- Review AMD’s use and development of AI solutions to ensure secure adoption in accordance with NIST AI Risk Management Framework, AMD policies and standards.
- Influence business processes by advocating for security measures that mitigate risk and promote a secure environment.
- Provide business context to emerging security threats, tactics, and techniques to drive user awareness and diligence.
- Support business and technology owners in identifying potential security threats to AMD systems and data to determine appropriate security measures.
- Advise on system security designs and controls and recommend security enhancements based on identified gaps in security architecture.
- Lead executive-level security communications and presentations.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships and trust with key stakeholders across business units and corporate areas.
- Lead and mentor team of Enterprise Security Architects.
- Proficient in Access Management and Privilege Access Management principles and best practices.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive experience as an Enterprise Security Architect, Security Solution Architect, or Information Security Consultant, 5 years in a progressive leadership role
- Experience in high technology industry, technology engineering, or semi-conductor is preferable.
- CISSP/CCSP/CCSK certification or equivalent, security specialization certifications preferred.
- Must have a specialization in 1-2 cyber domains with a broad understanding of other areas.
- Must be familiar with cloud-based enterprise security technologies.
- Problem solving ability and strong analytical skills.
- Must maintain knowledge of latest security, technology trends and predictions.
- Able to effectively communicate, interact and influence business stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver innovative solutions and consistently demonstrate business-focused outcomes.
- Have working knowledge of information security and risk frameworks/standards (i.e. ISO 27001/2, NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF)
- Possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt information based on the audience.
- Recognize and communicate potential security risks in a timely manner.
- Be highly organized and self-reliant, with the ability to multi-task.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related field.
