AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: This team is a key gatekeeper for quality of our server products with a specific emphasis on functional validation of our Server SoC through system level stress testing including elements of logical and electrical content. The team works as an integral part of our design, product engineering, platform SW, and HW teams to ensure we launch products with the highest quality standards on time as committed to our customers. They ensure functional correctness, electrical compliance / margins, and customer use case enablement. The validation team must engage from the beginning (to ensure all elements of post-silicon validation readiness and smooth customer solution integration) and stay engaged through post-launch (as our customers continue to expand their offerings based on our products). THE PERSON: An ideal candidate for this role will be a self-directed, high-output individual with a technical and execution background in data center servers and experience in engineering and/or architecture. Additional key attributes for success in our fast-paced culture include: The leader must collaborate well with cross-company development, manufacturing, and business leads to deliver high quality products at competitive costs and schedule. He/she need to have Executive level communications skills and a problem resolution mindset given the fast-paced environment and high degree of visibility with the most senior leaders inside and outside of the company. He/she should have server technical leadership skills to drive thru program inception to customer launch for top server product lines. Sound and rapid decision-making skills, ability to handle ambiguity, and consistent visible leadership during customer issues is a must. He/she must have experience of building a high-functioning, large organization across multiple geos internationally. The leader must collaborate well with industry-wide server ecosystem developers, datacenter operators, and business leads to deliver high quality validation workloads both internally and to our top customers. He/she must have knowledge on server CPU SoC microarchitecture and system architecture w/ understanding of post- and pre-silicon flows. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and drive validation execution from solutions to silicon level jointly with our top customers and outsourcing partners with persistent alignment on launch date dependencies. Hands-on work on a variety of different technical items coming from customer program execution and product development. This spans silicon to platform, firmware to BIOS to software and other aspects of the complete solution. These technical items will also vary in complexity and success requires growing and empowering a very strong, global and diverse team of AMD server engineers. Technical debug leadership and multi-expert steering in assuming the role of debug lead and driving a complex debug through a virtual taskforce and taking it to the resolution and satisfaction of the customer's problem.
