Come join Cognitiv as a Engineering Manager and be a part of our fast-growing company on the cutting edge of artificial intelligence! This individual will play a key role in the development of our proprietary deep learning platform. Together with Cognitiv’s team of engineers and data scientists, you will help build the next generation of tools to train and execute artificial neural networks at scale to solve complex big data problems.
 
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to build and lead our new Systems and Tools team. Working closely with our Sales, Business Development, and Product teams, you’ll be building highly visible and impactful software that is used by our clients along with our internal teams.
 
This position will be located in the New York City, NY office with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office (Mon/Tue/Wed) and 2 days remote (Thursday/Friday).

Responsibilities

  • Manage priorities and tasks for a team of developers
  • Develop the skills of the engineers on your team
  • Guide technical project objectives and deadlines
  • Implement and monitor technical strategy performance metrics
  • Direct the work of engineers to ensure the best practices around software development
  • Review engineers code and provide meaningful feedback
  • Support, coach and develop high performing engineers through regular 1:1s, continuous feedback and relationships with others
  • Constantly search for improvements in process, improve software delivery and operational processes
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional peers to set the direction of your team and develop your product roadmap
  • Coordinate internal teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met

    Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in any programming language
  • 5+ years of experience working with relational databases (Postgres, SQL, etc.)
  • Has led technical teams and projects previously
  • Expertise with the Software Development Life Cycle, software-based tools and workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Possess strong analytical skills; ability to inspect, analyze, and influence using data
  • Commitment to quality in every assignment, large or small
  • ,

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Microsoft technology stack (.NET/core, C#, etc.)
  • Experience with building and deploying cloud-based services in AWS/Azure/GCP
  • You’ve built a team from the ground-up
  • Ad-tech experience is a big plus, but not a requirement
  • ,

    Salary

  • $160,000-$210,000 Base Salary + Equity
  • Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to job-related knowledge, level of relevant experience, education and skills. Base salary is just one component of your total rewards package at Cognitiv. Employees are eligible for equity and various benefits.
