About the role
The mission of the AI infra team at Robinhood is to provide an agile and centralized AI platform that empowers teams to rapidly build, deploy, and iterate high-quality and highly reliable AI (ML and GenAI) applications at scale.
As a manager of the AI infra team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of AI at Robinhood by leading a team of engineers focused on AI/ML infra scalability and reliability, data infrastructure, and AI tooling. In addition to this, you will help scale the growth of the AI infra team by hiring top AI talent from across the industry.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on scalable AI/ML infrastructure in terms of compute (CPU/GPU) and memory.
- Driving improvements to the model development lifecycle (training, deployment, and monitoring), optimization of ML pipelines, feature stores, and real-time inference systems.
- Collaborate with several different teams within the company including Applied ML, Data Infrastructure, Product, Growth, Fraud and Risk engineering to ensure the AI infrastructure meets their development needs
- Define and execute a long-term roadmap for AI Infra, balancing scalability, reliability, and developer velocity.
- Manage a team of engineers which includes planning and prioritizing projects, conducting 1-1s with your direct reports and providing directions to unblock tasks.
About you:
- Strong technical expertise in machine learning infrastructure, data infrastructure, platform engineering and software engineering.
- Experience with distributed systems, ML model serving, feature stores, and data engineering for AI
- Familiarity with modern AI/ML tools (e.g. Ray, Kubeflow, Spark, TensorFlow Serving, Triton, SageMaker)
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, or similar, along with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Ability to align AI Infra with business and product needs, balancing trade-offs between innovation and operational excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects, balancing scope, resources, and timelines.
- Ability to identify, hire and retain top AI & ML talent from the industry and leading graduate programs
- Graduate degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering or natural sciences and some experience in software engineering in a production environment
Bonus points:
- Background in model governance, ethical AI
- OSS experience
- 1+ years of experience in managing a world class ML/ AI Engineering team
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer prior to management.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
