Our Role:

As an Engineering Team Lead at Leonardo.Ai, you’ll guide and nurture a talented team of mobile engineers as they develop innovative solutuions.

You’ll bring your technical expertise and people-first leadership style to foster a collaborative environment where creativity thrives while ensuring our mobile strategy aligns with our broader business goals.


What You’ll Do:

  • Empower & Support Your Team: Lead and mentor a diverse group of engineers, providing regular one-on-one support and career development guidance and helping them unlock their full potential. Create a space where open communication, collaboration, and team spirit drive success.

  • Champion Engineering Excellence: Foster continuous improvement within your team, working closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to elevate technical practices and ensure our mobile products are high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly.

  • Oversee Mobile Development: Lead every phase of the mobile development lifecycle, from release planning and QA to managing our App Store and Google Play listings. Your proactive leadership will ensure smooth updates, timely launches, and alignment with business needs.

  • Collaborate & Lead Post-Release: Collaborate closely with the product team to handle post-launch challenges. Your ability to use data-driven insights will ensure we swiftly address any issues and enhance our products.

  • Build Meaningful Stakeholder Relationships: Be the voice of the mobile team in meetings with the CEO, CTO, Head of Engineering, and other stakeholders. You’ll foster trust and transparency to ensure everyone is aligned with the vision and needs of the mobile experience.

  • Create & Cultivate a Diverse Team: You’ll actively recruit, mentor, and retain a diverse team, fostering a culture of inclusivity, equity, and belonging. By prioritising diversity of thought and experience, you’ll help build a best-in-class engineering team that is collaborative, resilient, and innovative.


Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Compassionate Leadership: You’ve successfully led teams of engineers, focusing on empathy, active listening, and supporting their growth both personally and professionally.

  • Mobile Expertise: Deep understanding of iOS and Android development, including release processes and app store management. Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin is a plus.

  • Collaborative Approach: You excel at bringing cross-functional teams together, ensuring alignment between engineering, design, and product teams, and driving towards shared goals.

Typical Interview Process

While we love technology, rest assured that our interview process is all human. A Talent team member will review your application, and we'll contact you either way to let you know the outcome. Here's what you can expect.

Round 1 - Meet Your Recruiter:

  • Our Talent team will reach out and arrange a 30-minute video call where you'll cover your experience, skills, and career motivations. You'll also get essential context about the role, the team, and how you can contribute towards our goals.

Round 2 - Craft Interview:

  • You'll meet some team members to discuss the technical task in more depth, work through some technical questions related to your expertise and cover past projects, experience and career aspirations.

Round 3 - Technical Task:

  • If you're applying for a technical role, you may be given a short take-home task to assess your skills and approach to problem-solving. This could be a real-life business scenario to unpack, a presentation, a test or a collaboration exercise. (Please note, depending on the role, the order of rounds 2 & 3 are interchangeable)

Round 4 - Values interview:

  • You'll be able to meet with the Department Head for a short, informal conversation to understand your potential impact, the growth area we can support, and how aligned you are with our values and culture.
