About the Role
As a Financial Accountant, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and Group policies. You will collaborate with various departments globally and contribute to enhancing internal controls for financial reporting. We are looking for someone who is passionate about seeking new opportunities to create impactful work in a dynamic, international environment.The Financial Accounting team at Monks consists of 4 full-time employees and is responsible for bookkeeping of the EMEA entities. The team operates in an international environment, collaborates closely, and interacts with various departments, including EMEA financial controllers, local finance teams, tax, legal, HR, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and Group policies.
- Prepare month-end processes and reports to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Liaise with group entities globally for intercompany reconciliations and cost recharges.
- Analyze financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss) to provide insights into financial performance.
- Collaborate with auditors to facilitate seamless auditing processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct and enhance internal controls for financial reporting processes to mitigate risks and improve financial integrity.
- Manage indirect tax filings (VAT, BTW, GST, etc.).
- Support ad hoc projects as required.
- Adapt to evolving business needs and take on additional responsibilities as the role develops.
About You
The essentials:
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant finance role, preferably within an international company.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate insights effectively.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
Not a must, but a plus:
- Experience with auditing processes or managing indirect tax filings in various countries.
- Familiarity with financial software and systems used in global organisations.
