LOCATION: Markham, Ontario ONSITE/HYBRID: These roles require the student to work full-time (37.5 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite work structure, throughout the co-op/intern term. PROGRAM TERM: 4 Month Term Sept 9 - Dec 20, 2024 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: You will be in a team that develops firmware to support new AI applications. While the focus is AI firmware and performance, you will be exposed to and gain experience on other parts in the end-to-end solution, including AI specific hardware, general silicon and controller, firmware, kernel driver and AI applications. This is a unique opportunity for any engineering or computer science student to develop skills for the AI era. Develop/test/debug Firmware for AI enablement silicon AI performance benchmarking and tuning Gain skills and experience across the end-to-end solution, including silicon, computer HW and boards, FW, AI SW and applications. Sharpen your problem solving and critical thinking skills through resolving real world issues. Gain hands-on experience with next generation of CPU/APU in Lab environment Learn other skills around FW development, including HW/SW debugging tools, automation, CI/DevOps, etc. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 2nd year or higher in EE or CS or relevant Engineering/Science program is preferred. Able to work in a team and also independently. Strong analysis and problem-solving skills. Enjoy hands-on and able to work in lab environment. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work in lab environment. Experience with PC components, e.g. motherboard, GPU card, etc. Programming in C language. Knowledge of Python scripting language. Knowledge on embedded software / firmware is preferred.
