Role Summary
We are looking for an FP&A Manager to join our Finance department and help support the growth of Mistral AI.
As an FP&A Manager, you will drive strategic financial projects to help scale Mistral AI’s fastly expanding business. Key responsibilities include new revenue and pricing models, margin analysis and process implementation.
What you will do
• Financial Planning and Forecasting: Develop and update financial reports and forecasts providing detailed analysis and explanations.
• Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analyses to evaluate company performance, identify trends and opportunities for margin and profitability improvements.
• Budgeting: Work on budgeting the activity and propose adjustments based on market changes and strategic priorities.
Additionally, you will be working on:
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development of long-term financial plans and strategies that align with the organization's goals. This involves scenario analysis and modeling different financial outcomes.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the financial health, monitor performance and operational efficiency of the organization.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management. This includes working on dashboards and visualizations to communicate financial data effectively.
• Help identify cost-saving opportunities and manage expenses to ensure they align with budgetary constraints.
• Work closely and act as a business partner with various departments (such as HR, GTM, Engineering or Product) to understand their financial needs and ensure that financial plans support their operational goals.
• Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
These tasks require a strong understanding of financial principles, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
About you
You must have:
• At least 4 years of experience in Transaction Services or FP&A (ideally Corporate FP&A), preferably in a fast-paced organization with strong knowledge of cost topics
• A master degree in Finance, in a top tier Business School
• Knowledge in financial reporting
• Experience working on complex business models (eg Tech or SaaS), on new business models or revenue lines
• Excellent skills in financial modeling (modeling new revenue lines, services, products, etc) including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• A strong attention to detail and ability to make sense of complex business figures
• An ability to translate financial data into actionable insights, to take a step back to understand the big picture to deliver business insights
• You are rigorous, proactive, autonomous, problem-solver and result oriented
Now, it would also be ideal it you:
• Have proficiency in accounting software and/or ERP systems would be a strong advantage
• Ideally previous involvement in audits and interactions with external auditors is a plus
