AMD together we advance_ GPU ML Inference Engineer THE ROLE: AMD is looking for a strategic ML Engineer who is passionate about writing fast GPU kernels for Machine Learning inference in the context of image processing and real-time rendering. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a highly skilled software or machine learning engineer, with expertise in low level GPU programming. You are interested in Machine Learning, and you are excited about the opportunities that real time inference can unlock for the next generation of software technologies applied to graphics. You are team-driven and motivated to do things others might find too difficult. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Writing Machine Learning inference code which is fast and efficient on GPUs. Ability to work with D3D12 and HLSL. Proficient in Python for rapid prototyping and testing. Comprehensive understanding of general software development workflows, including version control systems like Git, build automation tools like CMake, and continuous integration (CI) pipelines. Proficient in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting findings or proposals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, engineers, and domain experts to understand requirements, develop prototypes, and deploy production-ready machine learning inference solutions Document code, methodologies, and findings comprehensively, ensuring reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization. Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on machine learning concepts, programming techniques, and software development practices to foster skill development and team growth. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years of full-time (post grad) experience efficiently creating C/C++ game code for Windows and knows all about data structures, design patterns, language features, standard libraries and writing easy-to-understand code Familiarity with 3D graphics and ray tracing techniques using GPU Compute and popular graphics APIs such as Direct3D, Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL, CUDA, and HIP. Has strong graphics code optimization skills, in particular shader code optimizations. Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring robustness and performance optimization Experience with modern concurrent programming paradigms and threading APIs to develop parallel and distributed machine learning algorithms efficiently Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The following experiences are optional but highly desired: GCN / RDNA graphics or game console architecture experience Experience with ML tools such as ONNX, PyTorch and similar Game engine or game rendering framework experience ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent #LI-TT1 #LI-HYBRID Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
