SwiftRise is seeking an ambitious, mission-driven, and highly skilled Head of Engineering to recruit and lead a talented team across AI/ML, front-end, and back-end. This role will be the first technical hire in the company and will lead the team that designs, architects, builds, and scales our groundbreaking AI coaching platform. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully developing and launching prosumer applications, with a deep understanding of the technology landscape and a passion for leveraging AI to drive positive change.

This role reports to Yves Lermusiaux, Co-Founder and CEO of SwiftRise.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development of SwiftRise's AI Career Companion, overseeing all aspects of the engineering function from product architecture, technical requirements, design, development, deployment, and operations.
  • Write and review code, as well as define engineering structure, resources, operations, and KPIs as we scale.
  • Manage security, compliance, and data privacy policies.
  • Shape the engineering team across all platforms and be a thought leader in the field by applying AI to learning, professional development, and coaching.
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, rapid deployment, and continuous improvement (with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and product quality).
  • Work closely with product management and other members of the executive team to align technical strategies with overall business objectives and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Define and implement the technical architecture and choose the appropriate technology stack.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure SwiftRise remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Strategic planning with the CEO.  You’ll begin with a 30/60/90-day roadmap while helping to craft the technology vision, while pitching and fundraising to VCs.
  • Foster open communication with the engineering team and across the organization, ensuring transparency, alignment, and effective information flow.

    What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a technical leader, with a track record of successfully building and scaling consumer or prosumer applications with a foundation in full-stack application development.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading cross-functional engineering teams - responsive, front-end, back-end, and machine learning.
  • Deep knowledge of software development methodologies, architecture, and best practices.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter with proven 0-1 experience - thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment and adapts to evolving priorities and challenges. Demonstrated napkin sketch to product launch experience.
  • Commercially minded, with a proven track record of growing and scaling venture-backed businesses and experience with product-led growth (PLG) motion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technology solutions with a diverse group of technical and non-technical stakeholders and align engineering efforts with company goals.
  • Relevant experience in an engineering leadership role.
