Overview
At Esri, our Industry Specialists are experienced GIS subject matter experts within specific industries. Our Water Industry Specialist serves as a thought leader in understanding how GIS, mapping, and location analytics can transform and modernize organizations within the water industry (water, wastewater, stormwater, and/or water resources). Our team assists in the development and execution of a marketing strategy for growth of Esri technology within the industry and in support of business objectives. Objectives will be achieved by working closely with their Industry Manager as well as Sales and Professional Services leadership to identify market opportunities and programmatic priorities for consideration.
In this role you will network with industry influencers to promote and position Esri GIS technology as uniquely suited to address existing and emerging industry challenges in target markets. Our Industry Specialists are excellent communicators with experience presenting GIS topics and possess a solid understanding of financial, technological, and market factors to stay ahead of industry trends.

Responsibilities
- Assist Industry Manager to engage with marketing, sales, products, professional services, international distributors, education, and partner teams to successfully deliver campaign tactics
- Develop regular cadence of content (such as webinars, customer success stories, eBooks, social media, blogs, and more) that drive awareness, demand, and builds community
- Support conferences, tradeshows, seminars, webinars and user group meetings
- Contribute to the growth of the water community on social media
- Create, manage, and execute campaign tactics, including effective internal communications, to meet water team goals
- Track campaign progress and proactively work with internal and external customers to move activities forward
- Provide knowledge about competition to Industry Managers, product development, competitive intelligence team, and sales
- Research, evaluate, and assist efforts on strategic industry positioning along with gaining validation by internal and external experts
- Develop deep GIS domain expertise and be responsible for providing industry expertise to support internal requests, partner engagements and customer meetings
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in water resources, water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utilities industry
- Knowledge of GIS and its application within the industry
- Excellent communication skills to include written, verbal, and presentation
- Highly organized, strongly self-motivated, and have the ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities
- Quick learner with a positive attitude
- Strong decision-making, problem resolution, and creative thinking skills
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s in GIS, geography, or related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Master's in GIS, geography, or related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Familiar with web-based business systems
