About the Role
As an Insider Risk Investigator, you will analyze and respond to anomalous activities, promote a security-first culture, and work collaboratively across teams to proactively address risks. Your expertise will safeguard OpenAI’s mission, ensuring the secure development of transformative AI technologies that serve societal interests.
You’ll make an impact at OpenAI by:
Detect, investigate, and mitigate insider threats by analyzing data from diverse sources.
Develop, refine, and operationalize insider threat indicators, scenarios, and mitigation strategies.
Lead comprehensive investigations into suspicious activities and collaborate closely with legal, HR, and other stakeholders to address findings.
Deliver engaging security education and awareness programs to cultivate a strong security culture.
Partner with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve visibility gaps, enhancing overall risk management processes.
Design, implement, and oversee data loss prevention (DLP) controls to safeguard sensitive information.
Utilize open source intelligence (OSINT) techniques to gather and analyze information from publicly available sources.
Produce high-quality investigative reports, assessments, and briefings for senior management and other stakeholders.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Professional Experience: 5+ years in insider threat analysis, cybersecurity, or a related domain, with a proven track record of mitigating internal risks.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms and User Behavior Analytics tools.
Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and impact.
Collaborative Mindset: A team player who thrives in cross-functional environments and values diverse perspectives.
