Role

As an IT Support Engineer, you'll be an essential part of our Information & Infrastructure Technologies team. You will play an important role in providing technical support to our employees, maintaining our IT infrastructure, and ensuring our technology systems run smoothly. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware and software, networking concepts, and excellent customer service skills. You'll be the primary point of contact for onsite IT support at our HQ location, responding to a wide range of technical issues and requests. 

How your work moves the mission forward
  • Provide exceptional support ensuring full business hours support for outages and issues by responding promptly to events, executive needs, and critical situations; collaborating with other IT staff on onsite tasks as needed.
  • Empower employees by setting up and configuring computer hardware and peripherals, installing and configuring business-critical software applications and tools, and managing operating systems.
  • Resolve technical issues and ensure employee productivity by providing Tier 1 technical support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues and escalating complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
  • Maintain system reliability and performance by troubleshooting and resolving technical problems, including root cause analysis and hardware repair/replacement.
  • Optimize network connectivity and performance by performing basic network troubleshooting and assisting with switch and network management tasks.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and self-service by creating and maintaining user-facing documentation, how-to guides, and accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
  • Safeguard sensitive company and employee data by implementing and maintaining security measures and preventing unauthorized access to systems and networks.
  • Streamline employee onboarding and offboarding by setting up new user accounts and equipment and reclaiming resources from departing employees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and vendors to ensure high-quality service and support.
Skills you will need to be successful
  • Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field; 1-2 years of experience in a help desk or desktop support role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and peripherals; Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems; Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; Experience with troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, users, and vendors.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, both independently and as part of a team; Experience with troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation and a passion for providing helpful and patient support.
Skills that will differentiate your candidacy
  • Scripting and Automation: Experience improving efficiency and effectiveness by eliminating rote and repetitive tasks.
  • System Admin experience: Familiarity with command line in Windows, macOS, Linux to perform maintenance and administrative tasks.
  • Security Awareness: Knowledge of best practices and familiarity with organizational security policies and procedures, including password management, data protection, and threat awareness.

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $90,400 - $127,500 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
