Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Legal Operations Project Manager to join our team. This position will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our legal department by managing operations, optimizing legal processes, and leveraging technology to streamline activities.
Ideally, we are looking for someone immediately available.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Operations program support. Help manage Legal Operations team projects, driving to on-time and on-budget results
- Develop and implement strategies for the optimal deployment of the department's resources.
- Manage department budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance.
- Manage a central repository for all legal documents and related materials.
- Make significant contributions to process design efforts to positively impact the Legal team and its clients
- Manage current-state process documentation, future-state optimized process design, and provide on-going support for implemented processes
- Assist in identification and implementation of new Legal department tools and technology solutions
- Assist in defining centralized resources that are well-maintained and accurate
- Assist with leveraging existing technologies to develop new use cases
- Take on administrative management, maintenance and improvement assignments for identified tool and technology solutions
- Assist with solution controls and reporting
- Assist with legal-vendor management and oversight
- Contribute to strategic planning/roadmap development efforts
- Support and manage various ad hoc projects within the department as they arise
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in the areas of legal project management or legal operations in-house or at a law firm
- Strong understanding of legal software and case management systems
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in budgeting, resource allocation, and project management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing legal department technology solutions (e.g., e-billing, contract and document management, self-service contracting, approval workflow, e-signature, knowledge management, etc.)
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication experience
- Proven track record of breaking down processes and identifying key pain points in order to deliver business improvements at local, regional and global levels
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups to set objectives and produce results
Leadership and interpersonal experience with a proven track record of building relationships
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Google applications (including Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Sheets)
Preferred Qualifications
- Technology company experience
- Legal Assistant/Paralegal experience
- Experience with Slack, AirTable and DocuSign, IronClad
- PMP Certification
Compensation
The salary range for this role is between $130,000 and $190,000. Individual pay within the range is based on factors like job-related skills and experience. Total compensation also includes stock options and benefits.
