SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 2 

 

THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this position, you will help us build the compiler and software stack for optimizing Deep Learning workloads for our next-gen devices. You will contribute, develop and enhance AMD's compiler by building custom optimizations and transformations (operator fusion, tiling, memory layout, among others) targeting our XDNA devices. You will be developing solutions for complex compiler optimization problems, aiming to efficiently map applications onto AI accelerators. You will be using C++ and Python as well as open-source technology like LLVM, TVM, MLIR to perform your tasks.

 

As a key contributor you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. 

 

THE PERSON: 

We are looking for a person with an innovative and problem-solving mindset, complemented with a keen eye for Software engineering, compiler and optimization tools development. We want someone diligent and passionate about Technology.

A successful candidate will need to employ strong knowledge in tools development or compiler engineering, solvers/optimizers, AI acceleration, leadership skills in technical areas, and SW engineering expertise as well as a strong ability to compete effectively in a fast-paced, relevant environment while working with different teams of engineers and collaborators. 

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • MS, or higher degree, in CS/CE/EE, or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in C++ and Python, including industry experience
  • Solid understanding of Software Engineering principles, data structures and algorithms 
  • Background in compiler engineering, ideally with LLVM, MLIR or TVM
  • Experience with either using HW accelerators or compiling to an accelerator/ASIC/FPGA
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Good communication, teamwork and ability to deliver high quality projects on time

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Master’s or higher degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
