Datadog’s Runtime Configuration (RCFG) team allows our Engineers to safely manage and distribute configuration and feature flags at scale. The team owns the services, infrastructure, and workflows providing our Engineers with a platform to safely test and release features in production.
We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to cultivate a growing team of Engineers with an ambitious internal product roadmap.You will work closely with your team and counterparts across infrastructure and product to deliver a user-focused configuration management system. This is a high-impact position developing a platform which touches almost every system within Datadog.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead technical and architectural discussions to better understand challenges and problems faced by our team and the engineering community.
- Stay in touch with your team’s code, and roll up your sleeves when needed to unblock your team by writing code or troubleshooting issues.
- Lead and cultivate a team of engineers with a diverse skill-set, including performance management and career development.
- Own and drive relationships with engineering teams and major stakeholders helping to prioritize impact towards the team’s north star.
- Run OKR processes to define and align the team's quarterly goals with the needs of the business and platform.
Who You Are:
- You’re experienced working directly with internal customers to understand their needs and develop product roadmaps.
- You’ve built out robust platforms made up of services, data stores and data streams prioritizing impact and sustainability.
- You’re a forward thinker looking for an opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment providing leadership and direction for a highly technical team.
- You have significant experience in one or more backend languages, such as Go, Python, Java, or similar; and with different types of data stores, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis or ElasticSearch.
- You have experience working on browser-based user interfaces and working with Designers. Bonus points if you have full-stack skills or experience with JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Experience working with internal tooling, developer tooling, engineering enablement or similar internally-focused areas would be beneficial in this role.
- You have a BS/MS/PhD in a Computer Science, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent professional experience.
