We are looking for a seasoned data science leader for our Member Engagement & Experiences domain. In this role, you will need to be both technical and strategic and play a critical part in the evolution of our service to support a broader suite of entertainment offerings. You will be a business leader who deeply influences cross-functional strategy and culture and drives technical excellence in analysis and decision-making for products and algorithms. Your team’s expertise will cover various disciplines including causal inference, AI/ML, stats/analytics, econometrics, quant psychology, etc. 

Responsibilities
  • Lead strong partnerships with stakeholders from across the business - from product management, engineering, merchandising and marketing, consumer insights, finance, design, etc.
  • Act as an ambassador for member impact grounded in data and great judgment
  • Hire, inspire, and grow high-performing data scientists and analysts. Instill an inclusive culture that is creative and collaborative, both within your team and in the broader organization
  • Develop a team charter and roadmaps that optimize for business impact and technical excellence
  • Ensure that your team is producing consistently trustworthy and high-quality technical outputs that influence the business
The Ideal Candidate
  • Demonstrates tenacity, resilience, and leadership experience to organize and drive cross-functional work and decisions, overcome challenges, and propose solutions 
  • Is both quantitative and qualitative. Is able to assess and understand complex systems, as well as market conditions, competitive pressures, and consumer needs in markets around the world 
  • Has high EQ
  • Is a player-coach. Develop roadmaps and strategies. Oversees execution of technical work and ensures that the team produces consistently high-quality outputs
  • Has superb communication skills - Is able to cultivate strong working relationships, communicate effectively, write meticulously, and give outstanding presentations to both technical and creative audiences
  • Has experience building and leading hybrid analysis and causal inference teams in consumer product
  • Has a PhD / MS degree in a quantitative or computational field (focus on causal inference/experimentation / scaled measurement preferred) 
  • Has the capacity and passion to translate business objectives into actionable analysis, and analytic results into business and product recommendations 
  • Is passionate about TV, movies, games,  and defining the future of entertainment
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $360,000 - $920,000.
