Boku is seeking an experienced Group Product Manager to lead the Merchant Experience team. In this role, you will drive the product strategy and execution for Boku’s merchant-facing tools and services, ensuring they are scalable, intuitive, and impactful. As a key leader in our product organization, you will mentor and manage a team of product managers, fostering a high-performance culture that thrives on innovation and customer-centricity. You will collaborate closely with engineering, UX/UI design, commercial, operations, compliance, and other cross-functional teams to build solutions that empower merchants to seamlessly launch, operate, and grow their business with Boku.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the product vision and strategy for merchant-facing tools and services that enhance merchant onboarding, operations, and growth.
- Translate business objectives and merchant needs into actionable roadmaps and product initiatives, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Champion innovation by identifying opportunities to optimize the merchant journey and platform scalability.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Establish best practices for product management, including prioritization frameworks, discovery methodologies, and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide coaching and career development support to empower the team to excel in their roles.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, UX/UI design, commercial, operations, compliance, and other teams to build seamless, scalable, and intuitive merchant experiences.
- Ensure smooth communication and alignment across departments to drive efficiency and innovation in merchant solutions.
- Act as a key point of contact between product, business, and technical teams, advocating for merchant needs while balancing business objectives.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making:
- Utilize merchant feedback, usage analytics, and market trends to refine product offerings and improve merchant success rates.
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as active merchants, feature adoption, session duration, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of data-informed experimentation, ensuring insights translate into impactful product improvements.
- Customer-Centric Approach:
- Conduct interviews, usability studies, and surveys to gain deep insights into merchant pain points and needs.
- Continuously integrate merchant feedback into the product roadmap, ensuring a frictionless and efficient experience at every stage of their lifecycle.
- Advocate for intuitive, self-serve, and scalable product solutions that empower merchants to thrive on Boku’s platform.
- Market Analysis and Competitive Positioning:
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Define strategies to differentiate Boku’s merchant tools, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Continuously assess competitor offerings, industry benchmarks, and emerging market trends to identify strategic opportunities that enhance Boku’s merchant experience and drive competitive differentiation.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a key liaison between product, engineering, stakeholders, leadership, and merchants, ensuring transparency and alignment on priorities.
- Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to senior leadership, driving buy-in and strategic alignment.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, balancing business needs, technical feasibility, and merchant experience to ensure optimal product delivery.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Experience:
- 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing and mentoring product teams.
- Proven success leading merchant-facing or B2B SaaS product development, preferably in payments, fintech, or related industries.
- Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, balancing technical, business, and user experience considerations.
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, roadmapping, agile development methodologies, and enterprise client needs.
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills, including experience with analytics, A/B testing, and user research to drive insights and inform product development.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear product requirements while ensuring technical feasibility and scalability.
- Exceptional leadership and team development skills, with a track record of fostering high-performing teams.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with user experience (UX/UI) best practices for intuitive and engaging product design.
- Experience with platform technologies, APIs, and security best practices.
- Experience working with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Tableau, or similar platforms.
