THE TEAM:Ā
We are a cutting-edge firmware-focused team, committed to developing leading-edge Server/Data Center (DC) CPU and AI & ML Accelerators. The team is passionate about SoC level firmware and AI/ML Accelerator firmware development from architectural concept development through customer production.Ā
We are looking for an energetic engineer to work in a highly talented team on support SoC firmware development, validate, test, build, release, and collaborate with firmware QA team and other teams of silicon design, and architecture teams across all domains of the SoC.Ā Successful candidates will develop and manage world-class firmware, innovate, improve, and work with the advanced processes to deliver high-quality firmware powering tomorrowās data center compute needs.Ā Ā Ā
āÆTHE PERSON:āÆāÆĀ
As a member of the Commercial Systems Firmware Team, you will be responsible for developing new BIOS/EC firmware features for next generation silicon programs.āÆ You will engage with AMD partners and their firmware teams to develop solutions that bridge new silicon/firmware capabilities with their in-house solutions.āÆāÆĀ
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:āÆāÆĀ
- Develop BIOS firmware that enables new features and capabilities on our latest silicon programs.Ā
- Debugging issues found duringāÆthe process,āÆbring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.āÆĀ
- Manage and coordinate change lists for firmware release according to engineering stack package release.Ā
- Working closely with supportingāÆtechnical teamsāÆĀ
- Innovate and differentiate through firmware to delight customers and secure AMDās position as the vendor of choice for data center and enterprise deployments.Ā
- Partnering with Independent Bios Vendors (IBVs) to integrate AMD firmware.Ā
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:āÆāÆĀ
- Programming and scripting skills (e.g.āÆC/C++, Python).āÆĀ
- UEFI/EDK development experience.Ā
- Knowledge of x86 system architectureĀ Ā
- Knowledge of industry standard IO interfaces (e.g. PCIe, I2C, SPI, JTAG)Ā
- Understanding of OS kernels and OS ACPIĀ
- Knowledge of debug techniques and methodologies.āÆĀ
- Experience with board/platform-levelāÆdebug.āÆāÆĀ
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details.Ā
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.Ā
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:āÆāÆĀ
- Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer ScienceĀ
