MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a specialized compiler engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the AIE Compiler Team to design, and develop compilers and toolchains for AIE processors.
Contribute to the enhancement of code generation and optimization techniques to improve the performance of AIE Applications.
Utilize your expertise in LLVM to develop and optimize code generation components.
Investigate and implement VLIW (Very Long Instruction Word) and SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) processor support in compilers.
Apply graph algorithms knowledge to improve compiler efficiency and code optimization.
Write and maintain high-quality code in C/C++ for compiler development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address customer requirements.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in compiler technology and incorporate them into our compiler solutions.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of professional experience in compiler and toolchain development.
Strong expertise in LLVM code generation and code optimizations.
In-depth knowledge of computer architecture principles.
Experience with VLIW and SIMD processor architectures is a plus.
Proficiency in graph algorithms for compiler optimization.
- Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred
- Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
