Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Software Development Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products. Be part of an innovative research group and be responsible for the design and development of MLIR-based compilers for AI engine devices. Develop strategic and critical MLIR-based compilers for proprietary hardware products. Research, design, and implement software solutions to solve latency-critical problems with accelerators. Design and implement intermediate representations of software programs to improve performance of compiled hardware execution schedule, while ensuring user readability and maintainability. Develop machine learning solutions with custom numerical formats to provide solutions for speed and resource critical machine learning deployment scenarios. Develop performance models and simulators. Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

Qualifications: Degree required

Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related software development/engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related software development/engineering role.

For either combination of education or experience in this section, position requires One (1) year of experience in the following:

-Developing MLIR-based compiler flows;

-Developing solutions for hardware accelerators using AI/ML algorithms;

-Logic and circuit design;

-RTL design and coding;

-Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;

-Python, C, or C++; and

-TensorFlow and PyTorch.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
