AMD together we advance_ Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Systems Design Engineers to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system, or product customized for AMD’s business operations. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Develop test plans and identify AMD design and firmware dependencies to smooth execution of test plans. Write directed tests to verify AMD features in a co-simulated and emulated/FPGA hardware environment and validate firmware stack, BIOS, OS on pre-silicon emulation platforms. Debug SOC level failures and work with SOC design, firmware teams to complete feature validation. Write monitors and checkers to support end-to-end firmware/hardware validation. Run emulator workloads to test new and proprietary product features. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products. Multiple openings. Travel required: NO Qualifications: Degree required Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or related field. Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Specific skills required: The following skills are required: Position requires three (3) years of experience with the following technologies and/or skills: 1.Hardware verification; 2.Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL; 3.Functional verification of microprocessors; 4.Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification; 5.Python, Perl, or TCL; and 6.Emulation (ZEBU or PALLADIUM).
