AMD together we advance_ Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring an MTS Systems Design Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory; design a complete and complex framework, system, or product. Focus on test execution, creating, executing, and maintaining detailed test procedures and test scripts for cutting-edge remote server management firmware. Capture and report failures to the BIOS firmware and Integrated Firmware Image development teams. Improve customer satisfaction and product quality by increasing BIOS/IFWI firmware test coverage and efficiency. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Complete assigned tests in timely fashion based on expected completion time and customer/internal roadmap deadlines. Execute both automated and manual tests for BIOS/IFWI. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Travel required: NO Qualifications: Degree required Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field. Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Alternate combination of education and experience: Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, and three (3) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role. Specific skills required: The following skills are required: For either combination of education and experience, position requires three (3) years of experience in the following: End-to-end product testing, including regression testing and test automation; Performing Hardware and Software verification; Linux or windows internals; Low-level device drivers; CPU Architecture or GPU Architecture; Server Systems; System validation; and Software debugging (macOS or Linux/Unix).
