AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: In this role, you will be responsible for designing and performance modeling future networking technology especially in the areas of AI/ML and cloud networks. One area of focus is transport layer protocols: adaptive routing, load balancing, selective retransmission, congestion control and management. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, end users, and strategic partners to deliver cutting edge innovations in network products. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: With your solid knowledge and understanding of Data Center/Cloud Networking you will be: • Collaborating with customers to understand AI/ML workload/collectives and use cases and transfer those understanding into traffic models • Design network algorithms and build architecture model for large-scale networks for both front (cloud) and backend (AI/ML) networks • Identifying problems in architecture, functionality and performance with strong overall domain knowledge and analytical skills • Work with engineering teams to implement algorithms/architecture into AMD products and help in performance vs complexity trade-off analysis PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • Experience in architecture and algorithm design in the networking field • Experience with programmable network hardware • Experience with P4 programming • Experience with network simulators: ns3 or Omnet++ • Experience with system testing of networking product is a plus • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus • Effective communication and problem-solving skills ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent LOCATION: Santa Clara #LI-BW1 #LI-hybrid At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
