Tempus Next is looking to hire a Manager, Operations to oversee and enhance the daily operations and performance goals of our expanding Tempus Next operations team. This role involves managing multiple initiatives across multidisciplinary teams, prioritizing projects to ensure timely value delivery, and applying data-driven approaches to problem-solving. The manager will optimize existing processes and implement new capabilities and services, providing project oversight, managing timelines, escalating risks, and handling change management. This role requires excellent critical thinking, communication, organization, and presentation skills to lead teams effectively and engage with leadership.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Lead operational excellence across large cross-functional teams, including the design and implementation of updated operating models.
- Collaborate with Operations, Account Management, Connectivity, Data Science, Product & Engineering teams to identify process and product feature improvements to support daily operations.
- Convert program vision into project work, leading teams through all project phases (scoping, work breakdown, gathering and documenting business requirements, team building, budgeting, risk management, and delivering results).
- Utilize project management and process improvement methodologies to craft and manage project plans and agendas, prioritize activities, and ensure timely completion.
- Design, structure, and oversee multiple initiatives and teams simultaneously, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Support performance management of OKRs, applying process improvement methodologies to foster data-driven root cause analysis and improvements.
- Identify and respond to project issues and risks, ensuring expedient follow-through to resolution and appropriate communication.
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for optimizing existing processes and implementing new capabilities.
- Lead initiatives to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of project plans, processes, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports summarizing key activities, achievements, and challenges.
- Assess resource allocation and ensure that teams have the necessary tools and support to achieve their objectives.
- Address any resource constraints and reallocate as needed to meet project demands.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Proven experience in the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of clinical workflows and data.
- 5+ years of operational experience, including scaling teams, leading business units, and a track record of exceeding KPIs.
- Formal project management/process improvement training and experience with EMR integrations.
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and risks.
- Ability to identify organizational project intersections, dependencies, and resource constraints, ensuring alignment among key stakeholders while managing timelines and deliverables.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, able to create structure, and adaptable to changing priorities and initiatives.
- Strong intellectual and analytical skills with proven strategic problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, able to tailor messages for different audiences and interact effectively at all organizational levels.

The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from [Illinois] and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
