AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: The AMD Law Department is seeking a highly motivated paralegal to join the team supporting AMD’s Patent & Licensing team, reporting to the Vice President of Legal for this team. You will work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment where you will primarily support three groups: (i) our patent portfolio development team, (ii) our defensive patent licensing and litigation team, and (iii) our patent monetization team. THE PERSON: Ability to work with our inventor and engineering community and colleagues in Legal at all levels to achieve a common goals. Self-starter who can work as part a team to find creative ways to solve problems to achieve goals for the company. Understands when it is appropriate to escalate issues. Make sound judgments and recommendations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in Legal. Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize workload and competing priorities. Efficient, effective, and well organized and enjoys learning about cutting-edge technology. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing the paralegal functions related to ~30% of AMD's intellectual property portfolio. Collaborating with patent attorneys and inventor community to arrange, schedule and execute on invention harvests. Cooperatively with the patent defensive litigation team and the litigation team, handling litigation related matters (document collection, subject matter expert identification, etc.). Coordinating with various internal functions, including Engineering, R&D, and Finance, in support of business activities. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: A paralegal with 3+ years law firm and/or in-house experience. Experience in intellectual property law (patent prep & pros and litigation). ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Paralegal degree or certificate in a U.S. state. LOCATION: Austin, TX #LI-HYBRID #LI-ML6 At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.
