About the Role

As a Payroll Lead, you’ll shape our global payroll strategy while ensuring seamless payments, benefits, and compliance across jurisdictions. This role is for a curious, detail-oriented professional who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering exceptional results for a rapidly scaling organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee payroll operations for 1,000+ employees across multiple regions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage payroll payments, benefits, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions with precision.
  • Leverage advanced Rippling expertise to optimize payroll processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address payroll-related challenges and ensure no legal or regulatory issues arise.
  • Drive strategic improvements to payroll operations as xAI continues to grow globally.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of functional payroll experience; depth of expertise prioritized over total years.
  • Advanced proficiency in Rippling (required).
  • Strong knowledge of employment regulations and cross-jurisdictional payroll compliance.
  • Payroll certification (e.g., CPP or equivalent) required.
  • Proven experience managing payroll for 1,000+ employees across regions.
  • Previous leadership of payroll at a tech company is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
