THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced applied ML researcher to contribute towards inventing and building disruptive technologies to accelerate, augment, and substitute traditional rendering with GenAI for immersive visual experiences for real-time rendering. The role offers the opportunity to influence future innovations and directions for research in GenAI and drive POCs from inception to readiness for delivery into our products.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with a team of applied researchers to invent and path find new technologies in real-time neural graphics, GenAI, and other ML-accelerated opportunities.
  • Perform STOA research and implement POCs to demonstrate these disruptive technologies. while maintaining a keen focus on low-level hardware and software optimizations. 
  • Create comprehensive datasets to test POCs for quality and performance by integrating hooks into game engines to capture required data.
  • Contribute to writing software architecture specifications to deliver to HW IP architecture, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), developer relations and developer technology teams to aid deployment to products.
  • Contribute to AMD's intellectual property (IP) portfolio by publishing novel research in top conferences.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience developing machine learning (ML) models for immersive visual experiences for real-time rendering in popular frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, etc.
  • Proficiency in building blocks of GenAI techniques, including diffusion transformers and LRM, etc.
  • Ability to reproduce and iterate on STOA to tailor them to specific applications under consideration.
  • Good understanding of game engines and mechanisms to create custom scenes/datasets.
  • Excellent programming skills in C/C++, as well as scripting languages like Python, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Graphics/Compute APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan, and OpenCL, etc. 
  • Knowledge of GPU architecture is a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • PhD, Bachelor or Master of Science degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Computer architecture, or Electrical Engineering with relevant experience preferred.
