AMD together we advance_ Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring PMTS Systems Design Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Work across emulation and validation to define holistic, optimized test strategies and plans. Ensure functional correctness, electrical compliance/margins, and customer use case enablement. Collaborate with cross-company development, manufacturing, and business leads to deliver high quality products at competitive costs and schedule. Participate in a variety of technical projects including solution architecting, custom development, applications engineering, and technical training. Act as the key technical leader from pre-silicon planning and emulations to initial power on through post-silicon execution to customer launch. Derive test requirements and strategies through collaboration with silicon, hardware, and firmware/software teams, guide test planning to establish execution plans from silicon to solutions with AMD’s top customers and launch date dependencies. Provide technical debug leadership and multi-expert steering in assuming the role of debug lead. Drive complex debugs through a virtual taskforce and take to the resolution and satisfaction of the customer’s problem. Drive team to define test content, execution strategy and cluster debug tools, and reporting results and strategy. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: 84 months of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role Alternate combination of education and experience: Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Specific skills required: The following skills are required: With either combination of education and experience, position requires five (5) years of experience with each of the following technologies and/or skills: Hardware verification; Software verification; SoC/system architecture; GPU/CPU architecture; x86-64 architecture; RTL design/coding; C/C++; and TCL, Python, Perl, or Shell #LI-DP1 At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
