You will collaborate with top-level researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics, from academic labs, and help them solve open problems in their field using language models. You will build and train the models, and design and run the experiments. Our team's goal is to use language models for scientific discovery, we work on a broad set of problems.
- Interacting with academic collaborators and translating their problems into tasks for language models.
- Designing the experiments, and running them.
- Maintaining the code base for AI4Maths.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the field of Mathematics or Theoretical Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Research experience in applications of machine learning to their field.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distributed computing
- Experience with PyTorch
- Experience using transformers
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at leading workshops, journals or conferences.
